Imagine – Mission Madness

15 May

I blogged a little about this yesterday.  You can catch up here.

Consider the gifts God has placed in each of your family members…

Imagine these gifts engaged on a mission…

Imagine your family embracing a cause…

There are community mission opportunities to engage your family.  Some coordinated by your local church.  Some waiting to be coordinated by you.

Where can you take a group of families to engage with your community this June?

Featured here are friends who saw an unmet need in their community and were brave enough to do something about.  These are amazing people.  Take a click and see where God leads you…

We were planning on sending families on a Mission Trip to build a home in Mexico over Memorial Day weekend.
The recent Swine Flu scare and the looming threat of shutting down schools and school districts if our team members returned sick made us back off of our plans.

Any suggestions for what to do when the work your rallying around gets canceled?
How do you keep from losing momentum?

    Thoughts?

Anthony, this may be more of an opportunity than you realize. A good friend of mine is great at reminding me, when things like this happen God is creating margin for Him to work. Is there somewhere local? A low-income neighborhood or school that could use beautification? Imagine the relational bridge you could build with another community. Imagine the ongoing engagement for your families to impact a place to close to home. It's a little messier, I admit. But you'd be surprised how can transform your families.
