Simplicity, Playdo & Sunday Morning thoughts

We’ve all been there.  Curious to know what’s going on inside the mind of  a child.

How do they see the world?

How simple is their perspective on things?

How did we lose that simplicity?

Sitting at my desk before a Sunday full of church activities begin and I’m reminded that I have the opportunity to explore the mind of a child just by coloring, playing with playdo and singing songs.  I’m reminded how blessed I am to do what I do.  How many others have their world interupted weekly by simplicity?

I have so much simplicity in my life that it's complicated! ;)

And yet I can't tell you how many people feel 'sorry' for me that I can't go to the service to get fed. If they only knew what Jesus did: The kingdom of God is such as these.

I was just thinking of something similar last night. I was thinking how many times we actually sit down and try and understand how a child sees spirituality. We make so many assumptions and have our lesson plans and stories and verses and things that we want children to learn. How many of us have actually sat down with children and explored their understanding of God, the world, their place in the world, Jesus, what it means to follow Jesus, church, spirituality, etc.? I wonder if our approach to helping children conncet to God would change. Hmm, I feel a blog post coming on :) Nice to know that I'm not alone in my wandering thoughts.
