Finding a new rhythm

The past several weeks of my life have been unusual… to say the least. My world is not in the place I thought it would be a year ago. But in the middle of this season God continues to bring me encouragement from many sources (some expected and some unexpected).

  • a faithful, prayer-filled pediatrician
  • a seasoned children’s pastor states away
  • podcasts recorded in 2008
  • a spouse who knows me better than I know myself

I find myself searching scripture to connect with where I am only to find nothing. Last week I realized a few things God was asking me to do…

  • Search scripture to find Him… not to find my way out of where I am
  • Pray seeking Him… not seeking ‘my next step’
  • Soak up time w/ my family… not fill my schedule with interviews
  • Don’t miss the ministry He continues to allow me to take part in

It’s a different kind of rhythm. One spent more in jeans and hoodies, than heels and earrings. But I can get used to that. :)

If you’re curious how you can pray for me during this season, here you go:

  • for Spirit-filled, Spirit-directed prayer
  • for joy in the midst of uncertainty
  • for focused time to write (it seems writing with a 4 yo around is less than focused)

So grateful for my blogging friends. Have a great Monday!
