We took the kids to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum yesterday.  We passed through a section full of Indian artifacts (i.e. moccasins, blankets, tools, etc) then entered a section tributed to western actors.  Josie saw a few vinyl records on display.  “Look, mom!  Those were the Indian’s CD’s!”

Stories Kids Tell

Posted by on Jan 7, 2010 in Uncategorized

It cracks me up to hear the stories my kids tell each other.  Makes me curious about the conversations they have with their friends.

Josie was diagnosed with a bladder infection last night.  Not uncommon for her.  This morning she told her brother that she couldn’t pick up the toy off the floor because she has to be careful how she bends her stomach.  She shared in intricate detail of the dangers of bending your stomach the wrong way when you have a bladder infection and the long term affects of such careless activities.

I can remember when I was 8 telling my friends that girls can’t do push-ups or their muscles would burst.  It sounded good at the time.

bookYesterday my friend surprised me with an early birthday gift.

I love big words.  I love creative words.  You could say I’m a…

(a person obsessed with words.)

My obsession can dangerously lead to…

(pathologically excessive and often incoherent talkativeness.)

The Gilded Tongue is a book full of big words I’m not likely to use… b/c I can’t pronounce most of them.  It’s a special gift from a wonderful friend and I’m grateful for her thoughtfulness.  Thank you, Lisa.
